Danny I grew up in the Motor trade, my grandfather moved the family from Manchester to work for Ford at Dagenham (Yes -I am a Cockney Red!), my dad also worked for Ford specialising in all types of welding, After school I completed a four year apprentiship and qualified with credit as a motor vehicle technician, I did a further two years at night school specialising in Automatic gearboxes and electrical systems. As soon as I passed my driving test I applied for my RAC race licence and started Autocross, then Rally cross & club rallying, I met Mark in the local drinking establishment and introduced him to motor sport, I of course drove all the usual RS escorts from MK1 (Lotus big valve & 2.0 pinto) to the MK3 RS1600i. Unfortunately marriage, mortgage & kids put paid to my racing in 1981, since then I have assisted others by being in and running rally service teams. In 2005 After 13 years as Service manager for Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Vauxhall, Chrysler & Jeep I joined Mark in our current venture applying my 33 years of Motor trade to our business Mark After serving 22 years in the Army I formed Chameleon Motorsport Ltd as a company 4 years ago to carry on a 17 year Motorsport career which started with helping Danny out at a few autocross events whilst on leave from the Army. Over the years I have competed in and prepared cars at Club, National, European and World championship levels. Events include 5 RAC Rallies, The Around the World Rally, Peking to Paris Rally, Classic Safari Rally, Rally Deutschland, Cyprus Rally to name but a few. Apart from a passion for all forms of Motorsport I am a keen if not erratic golfer. As a partnership we strive to give a service that is second to none, with our combined knowledge and experience there is not a lot that we cannot achieve. |
